About 200 people demonstrated in support of Black Lives Matter in Watsontown, Pa., on June 28, 2020. Nearly 50 counter-protesters gathered across the street.
Local activist group and event organizer "If Not Us, Then Who" led protesters in chants such as "Black lives matter" and "no justice, no peace." They were met with shouts of "all lives matter" and "white lives matter" from the group across the street.
Watsontown Borough police, assisted by Pennsylvania State Police, Milton Police, and Northumberland and Union County Sheriff Departments stood in the street between the two groups and kept them separated during some heated confrontations.
